ARRL 10m

January 15th, 2020 | Posted by DJ8OG in Hamradio

Due to work I forgot to update my contest reviews. In December I was a few days in NY and couldn`t operate ARRL 160m but I operated in ARRL 10m the following weekend as Single OP mixed mode low power assisted.
I build a tripple leg GP antenna and mounted it on my 43ft fiberglas pole on Friday evening. After adjusting the antenna and installing the radio etc I made 6 QSOs before going back home. 4x local SC, 1x NC – I guess more less local too and one MS QSO to NY.
On Saturday we had some nice short MS or ES openings. Mostly Eastcoast, W1, W2, W3, W4, W5 but also W9 and W0. Also worked VE9 and a couple of SA (PY, CE, CX, LU and HI) stations before the band died in the evening.
Sunday only brought 14 new stations and 1 multi into the log.
Still had fun on 10m, I started in SSB online but switched on Saturday to mixed mode and made even more QSOs in CW than in SSB.
